This promotinal video was made for the Abbotsford Convent as media to promote the Convent focusing on the history of the site when it was owned by The Sisters of the Good Shepherd from the Roman Catholic church.​

Synopsis:

Filmenstein extended the concept of our Media Industries 2 course of Pick Your Brains by rendering the powerpoint presentation and printed mediums according to the zombie idea. This minimalistic approach to the theme is to emphasise the seminar’s panel set up which allows the audience to interact with the guests using Twitter. This minimalises the risk of the seminar turning into a chaotic mess yet still allow capacity for student participation and engaging in discourse. The guests that were invited were Glendyn Ivis, Don Linke and Sue Edwards, who are professionals in the industry and have been for many years. Glendyn has been a director at Exit Films for over a decade. In this time he has created a large body of work including award winning commercials, shorts, music promos, a feature film (Last Ride 2009), a tele-movie and series television. Don has twenty years of experience in the film industry across all areas of film and video production including television and corporate video production, feature films and documentaries. His latest feature Wil won official selection at the Hollywood Film Festival. Sue is a Line Producer on television projects including Good Guys Bad Guys (Series 1) as well as several series of HALIFAX.

Some of the important highlights for that day were getting our guests to observe a trailer that we made and to share their knowledge on the different processes within the media sphere based on their area of expertise. These processes range from a film’s pre-production to it finally being distributed to the public. In addition, during a Q & A session with them, our guests were asked if they would choose a good script over an unknown director or otherwise. This was probably the most valued response from them, as their input cannot be compared to any institute academic teachings.
